(Don Cadden of Alpine, TX., wrote a letter to the editor at Big Bend Sentinel newspaper in Marfa, TX. published Nov. 17, 2016.)
As election day passed I had hopes my friends and I would no longer be berated and degraded by the media, local yellow dogs, and particularly by NPR for being “deplorable, ignorant, backward, and for clinging to our guns and religion.” But it is not to be. I’m now learning from them how the new president was elected by the ignorant and uneducated among us; those without the benefit of university educations and advanced liberal learning.
For example, my first call about the election results came from a Vietnam vet who not only has a degree, but also received the National Heritage Award for his prolific poetry. Later I joined with friends from Sul Ross, Texas Tech, Texas A & M, Texas State, the University of Houston and even one law degree from UT. These poor ignorant souls were all smiles and actually think our Republic might have a chance to survive. Pitiful.
George Washington took the oath of office as America’s First President in front of Federal Hall in 1789, facing Wall Street. The Bill of Rights became law here too. Upon birth of the United States of America, the world politically would never be the same.
Likewise, financially. Wall Street in New York City has become the most economically powerful place in the World. It is home today to the two largest stock exchanges on Earth: the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. But it took drastic measures by the local border patrol to get all this positive political and financial activity under way.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand up for America’s Stars and Stripes and National Anthem at a recent football game in Santa Clara, CA. The falling star football player said he had to do something to speak up for the many wrongdoings happening today in America toward African Americans and other minorities. Here is how the Deplorables in Arizona who support their country, their military and their own Cardinals football team reacted to Kaepernick’s statement.
FBI agents and others “in the know” inside the Washington beltway say agents at the FBI are livid their Director James Comey did what he did. They claim there was more than sufficient evidence to bring several indictments against Hillary Clinton. It wasn’t a slam dunk case, but it had more than a good probability of a conviction for Hillary Clinton. However, they also believe, Lynch and Obama made it clear to Comey if he pressed for an indictment, he would be taking the Democrat nominee for president out of the election. And if he failed to get a conviction he would then be facing charges of tampering with and changing the outcome of a federal election, to which he would be facing life in prison. Obama and Lynch, as well as others, would see to it that he did.
This is why FBI Director James Comey presented his case the way he did on national TV and why it was so obvious he was reluctant to not press for an indictment, they claim. Hillary’s statement to the FBI was intentionally given without a court reporter present or without any recording of her testimony to prevent her from having any further exposure to legal charges like perjury. If she lied to Congress, they would have no written FBI deposition to confront her. This was set up to let her walk without fear of being charged with giving False Testimony or of being charged with Obstruction of Justice. It is what those in the “legalese world” call a “Straw Man” charge. Police and lawyers sometimes speak and use this legal jargon.
Movement conservatives have for years pleaded with Republican leaders to stand up for something—publicly—against the Leftist press, media and bureaucracy. Always claiming bipartisanship, working together, “crossing the aisle” and other platitudes, the Republican establishment never took a stand on issues critical to most Americans. Never be divisive.
Two weeks ago there were articles all over the web about the coming Republican Party demise. Today articles discuss how the Democratic Party may one day again become a national party again. How much one person, standing up for principles, can do! Behold what a difference fighting back means. And witness the pent-up demand from a population that is no longer a minority.
The vacuous, tepid commentary of the last 2 decades of Republican messaging are well represented by Dana Perino and Karl Rove. Every night America sees one or both on television incorrectly forecasting the next big thing or providing post facto commentary on what they just missed. Perino and Rove are the best examples of the moderate Republican corruption that has so badly served America for 20 years. Corruption because they cared more about being liked, getting Fox gigs, selling books, than standing up for critical issues in a rapidly devolving civilization.
While Dana Perino can show pictures of her cute dog while she sells her latest insipid book about nonsense, one remembers she once had a chance to actually do something meaningful. As press secretary, a former spokesperson for a president, she can still be one who fights back. But no, not Dana. She smiles, does a few talking points, and then is off to a career as another Fox genetically gifted blonde with not much insight but a big paycheck.
Trump Presidential Campaign Manager and spokesperson Kellyanne Conway
Kellyanne Fitzgerald Conway, 49, is the first woman ever to run a Republican presidential campaign, much less a victorious one. She is called the ‘Trump whisperer’ because she can influence Trump politically when others cannot. Conway’s parents divorced when she was three. “I grew up in a house with my mom, her mom, and two of my mother’s unmarried sisters. Four Italian Catholic women raised me,” she said. She grew up in Atco, N.J., not far from Atlantic City, and is an honors graduate of two Ivy League colleges as well as having been Phi Beta Kappa at Oxford. She is married to George T. Conway III, a New York lawyer. They have four children.
Kellyanne Conway gave then Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz poll updates.
Conway first worked for Ted Cruz to become President. She ran the Ted Cruz super pack. When Cruz quit the race for President Donald Trump sought her out for a second time. Trump was actually first to ask Conway to work for his campaign. He knew of her success in creating a successful Polling Company in 1995 that focused on asking female voters what they sought in political candidates. GOP heavy weights like Newt Gingrich had contracted her services. But that is not the only reason why Trump sought her out. Trump first met Conway in 2006 when she was living in Trump Tower in Manhattan. She served on the building’s condo board and was noticeably capable. Conway told the Washington Post she was surprised how Trump would show up at their board meetings personally to ask what their oncerns were. When Trump invited her last March to work on his Presidential campaign she declined because Conway says she is a solid conservative. She preferred promoting Ted Cruz. Today she is fully committed to President Donald Trump as they strive together to Make America Great Again!
By now everyone knows in 2017 Republicans will control the Congress. In the Senate the GOP has 52 seats, the Democrats 48; in the House it has 241 seats out of 435; and across the 50 United States there are 39 GOP Governors. The National Conference of State Legislators says the GOP today holds 4,100 seats out of 7,383 state legislative seats nationwide. Demos lost 919 seats in various state legislatures since Barack Obama has been President. Even in the liberal state of Oregon, where no Republican has won a state wide election in 14 years, there is now a GOP victory.
In 2016 Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian fined two bakery owners in Portland with a $135,000 fine when they refused to bake a wedding cake for two lesbians. As a Christian married couple, Aaron and Melissa Klein said it would violate their religious beliefs to participate in a same-sex marriage ceremony. They are popular local bakers. They offered to find another bakery for the lesbians. But Commissioner Avakian said even as Christians working in their own privately owned bakery in Portland, they did not have the right to refuse to make a cake for anyone. The Owners of Sweet Cakes paid the $135,000 fine, and shortly thereafter were forced into bankruptcy.
British Prime Minister Winston Churchill said, “The inherent virtue of socialism is that everyone is equally miserable.” Soon after being sworn in as President in 2009 Barrack Obama sent back to England a bust of Winston Churchill he did not want in the Oval Office. It was given to the USA by Great Britain after we suffered 9/11, to then Present George W. Bush. This bust of Churchill signified that Britain would stand with the United States to fight against terrorism, just as we helped Britain fight in World War II. When Obama shipped Churchill’s bust back to England he replaced it with a bust of Martin Luther King. Obama said he felt since he was the first Black President in the White House having a bust of Mr. King in the Oval Office was more appropriate. And that’s fine, but why couldn’t he keep both busts in the Oval Office? Mr. Obama said it would clutter the place up too much and so Mr. Churchill was sent home to England. Why not have moved him to another place of honor in the White House? If Mr. Trump removes Mr. King’s bust from the Oval Office you can hear the screams now, “Racist!”
Bring back Britain’s bust of Churchill. Let us thank England for its brave gesture and welcome the bust of PM Churchill back into the White House. Let us show England, and the world, we agree with Brexit. People have the right to protect their borders, their history, their religions and their culture. Bring back the bust of Winston Churchill now! Give it a place of honor in the White House. Likewise for Mr. King. Keep his bust in a place of high honor too in the White House. We are all in this together, white, black and Western European. Terrorists don’t like any of us. Now more than ever we need to stand together. E-Mail Mr. Trump to bring back Mr. Churchill!
(Nielsen ratings updated Dec. 1, 2016.)
Why is anyone shocked Trump won? Weekly television Nielsen ratings report who’s watching TV News at any time. Trump knew it. People watch what they like. Fox News has been the top rated network across all cable networks for the last 14 weeks. It even beat out ESPN. During all of November Fox held 14 of the 15 top Cable TV programs. Every night Fox News averaged 3.3 million, according to Nielsen, up 71% compared to the same time last year. Fox was reporting on Trump almost full time while CNN was bashing (and continues to bash) Trump full time. As a result CNN viewership has dropped below 1.5 million per night, barely beating out MSNBC at 1.3 million, according to Nielsen. CNN has lost all credibility. Its new name is CNN: Closed Now for News.
Daily polls taken by calling people at home between 9 and 5 were not productive for this Presidential election because more people still work in America than not. Going to construction sites and polling workers there, illegal or legal, would have indicated Trump would win. Trump talks rough like a construction worker because he is one. Americans love construction workers. They build buildings. They create jobs. They generate money. Illegally in the USA or not, workers want to work. Plumbers do more for American homeowners than Congress. Trump knows this instinctively.
The New York Times is owned by Carlos Slim, the richest man in the world who lives in Mexico. Slim takes in millions of dollars annually from illegals and legal workers from Mexico in the USA who call home on the cellular phones of the company he owns in Mexico. Plus, Slim makes more millions when they transfer money from the USA to their families down to Mexico where he owns the banks there too. NY Times reporters are encouraged to bring down Trump because Trump is bad for Slim’s business interests in America. Slim lives off Mexican workers in the USA, illegal or not. Hello? Is anyone paying attention?
Carlos Slim and his family in Mexico City.
Talk Radio won this election for Trump. Millions hear daily news in their cars and trucks driving to and from work every day….the buzz word here is ‘work.’ The fact Trump wins and Chris Plante is now going national tells you something. Trump won because of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Chris Plante. They all speak for working America. Period.
